This licence covers the Krenos Studio desktop application (the "Software") provided by Krenos. By installing or using the Software, you agree to this licence and to the Krenos Terms of Service, which apply to every online feature the Software uses.
1. Licence
Krenos grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software on devices you own or control. Krenos-specific components, including the Krenos AI extension, branding and integrations, are licensed only under this licence. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms (see section 4). Nothing in this licence restricts your rights under those terms.
2. Restrictions
You must not:
- remove proprietary notices;
- distribute modified versions under the Krenos name or logos; or
- use the Software to break the Krenos Acceptable Use & Content Policy.
3. Data
- The Software sends data to Krenos only when you use its AI features. A request includes your prompt and, where enabled, the active file and relevant workspace excerpts. Known secret formats are redacted and credential files are skipped.
- Voice dictation sends audio for transcription. Krenos does not store the audio.
- The Software does not send other usage telemetry to Krenos or to Microsoft.
- The panel's "What leaves the machine" tab shows what each request includes.
- The Privacy Notice describes how Krenos handles this data.

The installation folder contains the notices for other third-party components, in ThirdPartyNotices.txt. "Visual Studio Code" is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. Krenos Studio is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. Extensions you install from Open VSX are governed by their own licences.
5. Updates
Krenos may provide updates. Some updates may be required to keep using online features.
6. Warranty and liability
The Software is provided "as is". The disclaimers and limitations of liability in the Terms of Service apply.
7. Termination
This licence ends if you breach it. When it ends, uninstall the Software. Your rights under open-source licences are not affected.
